Meet the OBSIDIAN Agent: Your AI Music Production Assistant

WaveTrax Studios Aug 21, 2026

Music production can involve hundreds of small decisions - choosing a key, changing the BPM, adding tracks, loading plugins, adjusting effects, editing MIDI, arranging sections, mixing, and more.

OBSIDIAN’s Agent is designed to handle all of it from a simple prompt.

Create With MIDI or Generate With Audio

OBSIDIAN gives you two powerful ways to create.

Create with MIDI lets you build music directly inside your project. Ask the Agent to add instruments, create MIDI parts, edit existing MIDI, change arrangements, add tracks, or transform ideas into a playable production.

Generate with Audio takes a different approach. Using Google’s Lyria models, OBSIDIAN can turn prompts into musical audio.

Lyria Clip models can generate short audio clips based on your prompt, while full-song generation models can create complete song versions. Generated material can also be separated into stems, giving you more control over how you use it inside your project.

The Agent Knows Your Project

The real difference is that the Agent understands the current state of your project.

It can work with what is already there - including your tracks, MIDI, instruments, plugins, effects, tempo, key, arrangement, and other project information.

You don't have to explain everything every time. You can simply tell it what you want.

“Change the song to A minor, set the BPM to 110, add a bass track, create MIDI for the chorus, and put a compressor and reverb on the vocals.”

Instead of performing each task manually, the Agent can handle the entire command as one workflow.

One Prompt. Multiple Actions.

The Agent can perform multiple actions in a single instruction - adding or removing tracks, inserting plugins, changing plugin settings, editing MIDI, modifying the arrangement, changing key or BPM, and much more.

Your Project, Your Way

OBSIDIAN isn't about replacing the producer. It's about making the process faster.

Whether you're starting with MIDI, generating audio ideas, arranging a song, experimenting with sounds, or working through a mix, the Agent gives you a way to turn ideas into actions - directly inside your DAW.

Think less about operating the software, and more about making the music.
